Drawings...

These are a bit elementary, i have more i have to scan in. But i love drawing and rendering by hand. I can do AutoCad easily, but there's something about drawing in lines and the whole layering process i love. I need to do more rendering, i love using everything from architectural markers to colored pencils to watercolors. Adding odd things like lighter fluid and vinegar to marker drawings is always a fun experiment.

School project...scaled model

I went to a small private college here, the only one in Hawaii that has a major in Interior Design. I did really love it, especially my senior residential class. We had to design, draw and "build" a home built for a specific lot here in Hawaii. We drew on AutoCad a full set of construction documents and build a scaled model from those. It was a great experience, i loved it. Some days i wish i could just design and build models all day!

Drawings for "Inked" tattoo parlor...

There are only two of us in the studio at Pacific Home. Jamie, one of the three owners and lead designer, and then myself. One of our first projects was working on the tattoo parlor for the show "Inked". It was great fun to work on a tattoo parlor, especially one where they wanted something different from every other parlor. Although it is a chain, they have one in Las Vegas, we still got to fulfill a lot of our own visions.
The colors were supposed to be in tones of Aqua, Black and Silver, but ended up having to stick with Red, Black and Silver...so we did Red leather chairs, a black and white zebra grain laminated cashwrap and black concrete floor. We enlarged ancient Polynesian tattoo designs and adhered them to recycled plexi glass panels we found and had them lit from below...
