Small Pali Condo...

This was one of my first projects through Pacific Home i did on my own. This client was very hands on so i mostly coordinated colors, fabrics and furniture placement - she did all the actual work!
We worked with a rich palette of soothing greens and pops of deeper teals. In this space, we also used cork flooring in sort of a greenish tone and designed a custom built in desk using "green" laminates in tones of cork and green. We mixed in custom made linen pillows made from Raoul fabrics, Chinese garden stools, reupholstered vintage Koa chairs and added in fun shelving and accent walls.

Merchandising

I started working at Pacific Home as a store manager. When the store moved to a larger location (six times as large), i slowly moved from store manager to "designer", working in the newly formed design studio. To this day however, i am still in charge of merchandising and so every six weeks or so, we do a major re haul.
It's easy and fun for me. I can go in and work with our two stock guys and just transform the store into something new and fresh and pulled together. We usually have twelve "sets" to play with and so each time, i look at what we have existing, what just came in and what i need to do to make the old look new and the new look like it fits with the old. I pay attention to the overall style of each piece of furniture, it's shape, and the colors to figure out which pieces fit best with each other. I do love mixing odd things, i don't like everything to be too matchy matchy...I love it!
